About us
The Toihaus is a place for contemporary art, where an international and transdisciplinary team brings together the various fields of dance, music and visual arts. Free of linguistic limitations the Toihaus productions show poetic moments in their essence. This opens up a space for inspiration, sensation and perception. By exploring fundamental aesthetic approaches, Toihaus promotes sensitivity and creativity.
Cornelia Böhnisch and Katharina Schrott are the choreographers of the Toihaus productions and form its artistic style. Their intention is to discover the potency of reduction in the compositional and choreographic potential of material and object.
Call
This call is explicitly addressed to choreographers and performers for a co-production format that will be newly developed in 2025 and premiered at Toihaus in the year 2026. The focus is on pieces from the fields of dance and performance, which should be clearly related to a previous Toihaus production (from 2019 on). Productions for all ages and diverse audiences are welcome!
The final selection will be made by Cornelia Böhnisch, choreographer and artistic co-director of the Toihaus Theater.
Financing is subject to possible reductions in public funding.

Das Toihaus ist ein Ort für gegenwärtige Kunst, an dem ein internationales sowie transdisziplinäres Team die verschiedenen Sparten Tanz, Musik und Bildende Kunst in Verbindung bringt. Frei von sprachlichen Einschränkungen zeigen die Toihaus Produktionen poetische Momente in ihrer Essenz. So wird ein Raum für Inspiration, Empfindung und Wahrnehmung eröffnet. Im Erforschen von grundlegenden ästhetischen Zugängen befördert das Toihaus Sensibilität und Kreativität.
Cornelia Böhnisch und Katharina Schrott sind die Choreografinnen der Toihaus Produktionen und formen die künstlerische Handschrift des Hauses. Ziel ist es, die Kraft der Reduktion im kompositorischen und choreografischen Potential von Material und Objekt zu finden.
Call
Diese Ausschreibung richtet sich explizit an Choreograf:innen und Performer:innen für ein Koproduktionsformat, das 2025 neu erarbeitet und im Jahr 2026 am Toihaus uraufgeführt werden wird. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf Arbeiten aus dem Bereich Tanz und Performance, wobei diese in klarem Bezug zu einer bisherigen Toihaus Produktion (ab 2019) stehen sollen. All-Ages- sowie Diverse-Audience-Produktionen sind willkommen!
Die finale Auswahl trifft Cornelia Böhnisch, Choreografin und künstlerische Co-Leiterin des Toihaus Theaters.
Die Finanzierung erfolgt vorbehaltlich etwaiger Kürzungen der öffentlichen Förderungen.
