Play of Forms
Beginning with the music’s sound and moving on to the human body into the diversity of materials – the anniversary edition of the BimBam Festival plays with the richness of theatrical forms. Paper turns into a dress or a painting surface, the play of light and shadow takes us on a journey into the world of colour, and within the darkness we enter the magical space between dream and reality.
Over a period of three weeks, ten international companies will be presenting their pieces for the very young at various venues in the city and province of Salzburg, Upper Austria and Bavaria – and I warmly invite everyone to come and join!

FESTIVAL
BimBam puts a spotlight on the diversity of theatre for the very young. This international theatre festival for (young) children has taken place every two years since 2007 and celebrates its anniversary in 2025 with the tenth edition. BimBam is a highlight for families as well as educational institutions and professionals. Performances at various venues in the city and province of Salzburg, Upper Austria and Bavaria enchant an ever growing audience.
BimBam builds on the artistic work of the Toihaus showing current art in its essence to an audience of all ages all year round. The appreciation of the youngest members of our society is realised in an encounter at eye level and in taking artistic aspirations seriously, regardless of age and origin. Young audiences listen openly, feel sensitively and explore various paths – art for children is therefore indispensable for a diverse and open-minded society.
Just as theatre is a space for possibilities, BimBam considers itself to be a festival for everyone – intergenerational and accessible to all.
