The Chronicles of Princess D*
Performance by Kim Ceysens
Premiere: 24 April 2026 – 07:30 p.m.

Smoke, blood, knives, and a decapitated monster clown from Warsaw named Monstro… and Princess D*: a warrior-princess oscillating between the sacred and the profane—connected to the divine, the feminine, and, inevitably, her Instagram and Tinder accounts. In the solo “(K)NIGHT LIFE – The Chronicles of Princess D*”, choreographer and performer Kim Ceysens invites the audience into a powerful, intuitive, and cinematic dance journey. The work navigates heartbreak, longing, and the persistent search for human connection within the paradoxes of a hyperconnected yet profoundly disconnected era.
Deeply inspired by popular culture and the visual language of social media, the performance unfolds through a sequence of fictionalised re(e/a)lities ( such as a self-constructed meet-cutes in NYC or the performers own Tinder conversations ) and dreamlike tableaux where the boundaries between fiction and reality, intimacy and performance, myth and algorithm begin to dissolve.
Within this shifting terrain, Princess D* emerges as both avatar and archetype: a knight of the night, wandering through emotional battlefields shaped as much by ancient longing as by digital desire.
Oh baby, this gonna hurt*
