Artistic Director

Born in Salzburg, Katharina Schrott completed her studies in contemporary choreography, dance and performance at the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) in Amsterdam she continued further education in dance, choreography and theatre at home and abroad. She has been active at Toihaus since 2001, where she and her colleagues began making theatre for young audiences and have been continuing to shape and develop it ever since. She has created numerous productions together with Cornelia Böhnisch and has thoroughly enjoyed the artistic exchange. In 2015, Katharina Schrott took over the artistic direction of the international theatre festival for young children BIM BAM. For several years she has been accompanying the EU project “Small Size”, which since 2019 goes on under the new title “Mapping”.
